North Carolina Governor Mike Easley faces charges this morning of aiding and abetting in the murder of a 20 year old Rowan County woman by the anti illegal immigration groups. Easley has also been charged in the death of the woman's unborn child. Leanna Newman, 20, was eight-months pregnant when she and the unborn child were killed in a head-on crash Tuesday. Her 20-month-old daughter, Malery, was in the car at the time of wreck, but wasn't hurt.
Police say the other driver, Rigo Martinez, was driving without a valid license and was speeding when he crossed the yellow line. Martinez is still at Carolinas medical Center listed in fair condition. Easley is accused of making it possible for illegal aliens to get a drivers license in the state which makes North Carolina a very attractive destination for illegal immigrants to settle.
